Hi All
Can anyone advise me regarding upgrading from Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 to CS5 please.
Adobe CS3 has served me well but now I need to utilize SFTP and CS3 is not good for this so my questions are:
1. I think CS5 has the SFTP functionality built in out of the box? Am I correct?
2. Downloading the CS5 upgrade from the adobe site overwrites CS3 without the need to un install cs3 first?
3. Are there any issues I should be aware of?
4. Are there any precautions I should take?
Thanks a million for any help or advice anyone can offer.

Is Social Media a Great Big Waste of Time?

Well maybe!
It really depends what you do with it.
If you are into social media just for fun, you probably have a twitter or Facebook account or possibly both.
If you are doing Social Media just for fun that' great.
However, practically everyone I know who is into social media is in it for business development and or personal brand building, therefore they generally have accounts with at least Ecademy, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube and Facebook. Many (like me) have accounts with over 100 social platforms.
Admittedly I only really participate in Ecademy, Twitter and a bit of YouTube.
But why do we do it? and is it a great big waste of our time? I know that there are stalwarts on both sides of the argument and those who know me well know that I do like and benefit from social media.

When and Why You Should Trust and Hire a Digital Coach

Trust is earned, it is not a given thing. So how do you know if you can trust a Digital Coach or any other vendor in any other business Genre?
In my case I always speak face-to-face or phone to phone or skype-to-skype if the physical meeting is not possible.
Secondly, particularly if the service I am buying is considerable I will try to speak to past and present clients of the vendor for their assessment of the vendors work.
Thirdly, I will give a brief to the vendor and will assess the vendors response to the brief.
I am sure there are other great ways to assess a potential vendors work and I would be very grateful to hear your ideas and how you investigate the suitability of your prospective vendors.

I take a different view on social media.
Speak to any retail brand owner and they will tell you that their stores lose sales to the internet.
Ask any retail brand owner why they sell online and they will tell you "that's where the customers are"
Walk down most traditional high-streets in the land and you'll notice something missing. The brands.
The Traditional Marketing Mix has been the bedrock for business for over 50 years.
The Traditional Marketing Mix: * Product - * Price - * Place - * Promotion has changed
Things have moved on somewhat in the past few years, the product mix is still hugely important but * Place and * Promotion have changed. (see images below)
Anyone who says social media is, is a waist of time or pointless or just a fad is either hiding from something they do not understand or possibly they fear it. (in my opinion)

Research, Design and Deliver a total online marketing strategy for my client, a major Hair Fashion Brand concerned with the marketing and distribution of Hairdressing products for the professional and the consumer. The brand will be identified when the project is complete.My client is actively involved with many high profile projects including the supply of hair related products to the XFactor live shows.
Project includes the development of two websites. A web 2.0 Website and Blog, a Transactional Website developed on the Magento platform and a "total immersion" Social Media Integration Plan. Both websites will be designed with a bespoke theme to look identical.

Everywhere where we turn in the online and social media world we are bombarded with offers to join this and that for free, and then there is the never ending stream of emails from so called friends, contacts and followers telling you about the latest must have online tool that they just had to tell you about.A popular trend for the past couple of years has been "free love" meaning that online marketers will give something enticing away for free in return for a name and email address.
Unfortunately though, for every high-quality freebie with an integrity based motive. There are 1,000 online traps which lead to an aggressive up-sell and or your name and email address being placed on a suckers list.
